Marathon Training Round Two.....

Ive decided to get my booty in gear and do what makes me happy...R U N N I N G!!!  I haven't really ran for two WHOLE years!  So....I broke out my gym pass and ventured to the social work out scene.
Probably one of my biggest motivations to get running again was my niece Amber, who really wants to run the Moab half marathon with me, so I decided it's time to train for a race.  I forgot how good it feels to run.  Not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.  Running clears the mind and calms the soul.

I've decided to blog about this training process so others will have a place to come and see how I did it, and where they can start from square one.  When I ran my full marathon, 26.2 miles in June of 2007 I used a training program from a book written by Jeff Galloway .  I remember the first time I looked at the training schedule I thought, "I can barely even run a mile, let alone 26.2".  The great thing was Jeff's book was motivating and showed me how I can go from completely out of shape, to a marathon runner in four months.  All you have to do is take it ONE DAY AT A TIME.  I remember writing out the training schedule and about three months into the training I was writing workouts for 13 and 18 miles.  I remember thinking I was crazy and that was impossible, but when that day came, I was ready for it and I did it.  Trust me, if I can run a marathon, anyone can run a marathon.  It just takes training and dedication.

You can either follow the training programs by Jeff Galloway  which is what I did for my first marathon, or just follow my blog and I'll show you day by day how I'm going from completely out of shape, to running a half marathon.....and maybe down the road another full marathon, I'm just not 100% committed to that yet.  :)
